ReCharge RC: High Voltage Arrives On Steam Early Access
In the race between two radio control car games with very similar names, ReCharge RC: High voltage arrives on Steam Early Access with an impressively long list of updates and improvements since a demo version was available during Steam Next Fest 2025.
The work of solo developer Brandon Proulx under the name of Hondune Games, it’s priced at £9.99, but there’s a 16% discount until August 1st, 2025, discounting ReCharge RC: High Voltage to £8.39. The estimate is that it will be in Early Access for 6-12 months as more content, features, multiplayer and more are added.

It’s already been in development for four years at this point, but recent features arriving in the last update include a campaign mode with 10 tracks included, featuring a retro Rookie RC car which immediately takes me back to Tamiya buggies of the 1980s (my dad started off with a Hornet, before I opted for a Kyosho Optima Mid Custom for myself)
Wheels from INJORA have also been added, along with decal packs to customise your RC car, Steam cloud saves, a session marker system to let you plractice specific sections of tracks, a rewind system, and the ERX04 rally car.
You’re able to create your own tracks or play the existing ones using a range of detailed RC vehicles using simcade handling. And along with accurately modeled suspension geometry and vehicle mechanics, there’s also a detailed damage model which allows for broken steering links and shocks. Having once split a carbon chassis in half due to a collision with a tree, I suspect it could bring back some traumatic childhood memories.
The reason for potential confusion is that an entirely separate simcade RC game named Recharge is currently planned to launch into Steam Early Access on July 28th, 2025, developed by Room Games as a completely different project (Brandon from Hondune commented on a previous article mentioning both games to give his views on the situation).
In any case, ReCharge RC; High Voltage is now available for the PC via Steam Early Access. And you can keep up with the latest news, updates and more, here.
