Trial by Fire – GTPlanet
Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges continue in their regular cycle, with a fresh set available to players around the world as Thursday night gives way to Friday morning.
The Weekly Challenges are in effect a bonus mode, available to players who’ve completed the GT Cafe career and giving five races each week that earn you a boost to your wallet (or garage) the more you complete. Updating every week with a fresh set, you’ll find them in a green box within World Circuits, with five races — composed of four existing events and a “Special Event” created just for the week — to complete.
This week’s quartet cover the usual spread of race lengths, difficulties, and rewards, beginning with the Japanese FF Challenge 450 at the Autopolis International Short Course. It’s just a two-lap race around this off-camber rollercoaster, and requires a front-engined, front-wheel drive car from any Japanese brand. The “450” of the name is a suggested Performance Point (PP) value for a competitive race, but not a hard limit, and virtually anything in that range or above will see you take home the 25,000cr for winning.
There’s a big bump up to the next event, comprising a round of the Evolution Meeting at the combined Kyoto Driving Park Yamagiwa+Miyabi course — in the reverse direction. You can use any production, roadgoing Mitsubishi Lancer Evo for this race (so no Gr.B Road Car), but be warned that the AI aren’t in standard specification so you’re probably going to need a few tweaks to catch up over the three-lap race and take the 70,000cr winner’s prize.
As you may expect from the name, you’ll need a Porsche for the next race: a five-lap affair at Laguna Seca in the Porsche Cup. Any Porsche will do, even race cars, but there’s a hard 650PP cap here so pick your car carefully with the track and these limits in mind. There’s 80,000cr for taking the win.

It’s the turn of Ferrari next, with this week’s Special Event being another one-make race for the 812 Superfast. You’ll be racing this V12 grand tourer over five laps of the Trial Mountain circuit, and while there’s no limits on vehicle tuning it’s not a tricky race to win in the standard car, and claiming 85,000cr in the process.
We round out the week with the traditional high-value World Touring Car event. This week it’s the turn of the WTC800 again, requiring any car of any kind on Racing Tires subject to an 800PP limit. It’s a ten-lapper at Monza, with the AI running Gr.3 race cars and easy enough to beat in similar machinery for a 147,000cr victory reward.
This week’s bonuses are back to being credit tickets, that you’ll need to redeem from your garage’s “gifts” section to claim the money. Clearing any one race lands a 100,000cr ticket, finishing any three gives the 200,000cr ticket, and sweeping the set is worth the regular high-value 500,000cr ticket.
You’ll need to have completed GT Cafe Menu Book 39 and watched the ending movie in order to have access to the Weekly Challenges. The events update at midnight local time on Friday mornings, so we’d expect the next set on the morning of Friday August 29.
